Mien-Fluent Behavioral Health Specialist for the Asian Family Resource Center

The Behavioral Health Specialist is responsible for providing behavioral health rehabilitation and case management services to individuals and in group settings.  

Responsibilities and Duties include:
  • Design curriculum and facilitate group activities, discussions, trainings
  • Develop, review, and evaluate individual program plans
  • Document services provided and maintain service log report
  • Communicate with family members, care providers, case managers
  • Develop and maintain community contacts
Qualifications include:
  • Fluency in Mien required
  • Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or other humanities related field from an accredited college, plus 4 years of work experience in human services field. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, in Professional English and Mien
  • Must meet State licensing requirements involving health screening and Department of Justice clearance. California Driver’s license, good driving record and use of a vehicle required (mileage reimbursement provided).
  • Experience in providing individual, group counseling and clinical case management in API communities preferred
  • Knowledge of cultural issues, community resources, and family dynamics preferred
  • Knowledge of Medi-Cal documentations standards preferred
Hours: Monday – Friday, 30-37.5 hours per week, 9am-3pm or 9am-4:30pm
Location: Richmond, CA
Compensation: $24/hour + benefits

Our vacation accrual rates are generous: 1st and 2nd year of employment = 2 weeks vacation a year; 3rd and 4th year of employment = 3 weeks vacation a year; 5th to 9th year of employment = 4 weeks vacation a year; the 10th year onward = 5 weeks vacation a year.
