VistAbility is a non-profit agency serving Contra Costa County that exists to enhance and enrich the lives of children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Toward that end we provide direct services and advocacy to assist those we serve in achieving their highest level of personal independence and self-sufficiency.

The Administrative Assistant performs many varied duties throughout the day in a busy environment. These duties include answering phone calls, greeting participants, staff, family members and other guests with enthusiasm and confidence; providing backup to Administrative Coordinator; and a large variety of general clerical duties. You will also summarize timesheets to submit to payroll and pack away and/or distribute food bank boxes, other deliveries.

  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of business English, including spelling and punctuation

  • Strong work ethic with ability to prioritize
  • Ability to make good judgment calls, ability to adapt and demonstrate flexibility
  • 1 year administrative experience preferred but not required 

Minumum Requirements:  
  • Valid CA driver license and good driving record required.
  • Must meet State Licensing requirements involving health screening and Dept. of Justice clearance including fingerprinting and background check.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination - medical/religious exemption requests will be considered 

Location: Antioch

Hours: Monday through Friday: 8:00 am - 3:30 pm, 37.5 paid hours per week

Compensation: $15.75 per hour plus great benefits!

Our vacation accrual rates are generous: 1st and 2nd year of employment = 2 weeks vacation a year; 3rd and 4th year of employment = 3 weeks vacation a year; 5th to 9th year of employment = 4 weeks vacation a year; the 10th year onward = 5 weeks vacation a year.
