VistAbility is a non-profit serving Contra Costa County that exists to enhance and enrich the lives of children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We provide direct services and advocacy to assist those we serve in achieving their highest level of personal independence and self-sufficiency.

Do you have experience with driving medical transport, ambulance or emergency vehicles, airport shuttles, limousines, transporting seniors for appointments or outings, transporting people with disabilities for appointments or outings? 

Part-time and split shift Shuttle Bus Driver needed to work morning shift in Richmond. Transport adults with developmental disabilities from their homes to day program at CAP-Hilltop facility in the morning and return to program participants' homes in the afternoon.

  • Ability to read maps, be punctual, reliable and to work various hours during the day.
  • Experience with vehicle maintenance.
  • Ability to complete transportation documentation accurately.
  • Good communication skills; ability to interact in a positive and supportive manner with riders.
  • Experience with securing wheelchairs with tie downs.
  • Ability to maintain supervision of riders to ensure safety while in transit.
Minimum requirements:
  • Department of Justice clearance required 
  • California Driver's license and clean driving record
  • One year of continuous, verifiable experience driving for work.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination including booster - subject to religious or medical exemption requests
  • Indoor masking is required at all program sites when in contact with any staff and/or participants
This is a part-time and split-shift position.
Hours: Monday – Friday (hours may vary, approximately 10-15 hours/week) 
1st shift: 7:15am - 9:30am
additional run Tuesday & Thursday 9:30am – 12:15pm.  

Compensation: $15.54/hr. plus great BENEFITS!

Our vacation accrual rates are generous: 1st and 2nd year of employment = 2 weeks vacation a year; 3rd and 4th year of employment = 3 weeks vacation a year; 5th to 9th year of employment = 4 weeks vacation a year; the 10th year onward = 5 weeks vacation a year.
