 Job Summary:
The Test Engineer will establish test procedures and coordinate testing of products under development.  Performs professional electronic engineering assignments of wide Complexity under general direction with considerable discretion as to work details. Designs, fabricates, modifies, and evaluates complex Electronic circuitry of electronic devices or systems. Performs Development and/or test work that requires a comprehensive Knowledge of electronic theory and design.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates and performs tests at the quality control stage of the manufacturing process.
  • Gathers and studies information regarding materials and components to be used in production.
  • Compiles and evaluates design and test data, prepares technical Specifications, and analyzes technical data to determine appropriate limits and variables for product process or materials specifications.
  • Drafts proposals for testing programs and operating procedures; outlines the specific testing conditions to be applied.
  • Plans and arranges the equipment required for testing and evaluating Standard and special devices or components. Analyzes, develops, and recommends test equipment design approaches required to meet production requirements for new or improved products and/or process.
  • Provides test area with specific tests to be performed. Designs, build, calibrate, and debugs test equipment. Compiles data and defines and changes requested in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, and new testing requirements.
  • Tests new products; develops systems to gather digital data during testing.
  • Develops test equipment, procedures, and processes to test products. Writes test programs and procedures for manufacturing test. Provides Functional guidance and may train team members during pre-production testing. Reviews and approves related inputs such a drawings and specifications prepared by technical support personnel, i.e. ECR/Eco’s for related products.
  • Studies the data gathered during testing and evaluates the validity of the results.
  • Investigates and solves testing and design problems within scope Responsibilities. Evaluates and determines reasons for test failure Problems. Seeks guidance as necessary. Recommends appropriate Action to resolve problems.
  • Identifies any problems with new products; makes adjustments or recommendations to resolve problems.
  • May assign work to and direct drafters, technical writers, and QC Technicians, as required work of lower level test engineers. Interfaces With personnel in inter-related operations to assist and solve production problems. Prepares various management reports and documentation as necessary.
  • Continues testing and analysis until results are within product requirements and specifications.
  • Drafts detailed technical reports to present findings; based on findings, recommends modifications needed to correct production problems.
  • Develops ongoing quality control testing procedures to be incorporated into the regular production process. 
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, computer science, or mathematics, required.
  • Three to five years experience in production test in electronics industry or related discipline
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to traverse production facility.
