The Set-up Associate is responsible for assisting with the set-up, operations, replacement, and installation of machines for the Liquid department. This individual will troubleshoot and assist in the major/minor cleanings of the machines.

  • Conducts major set-up for product run.
  • Cleans the machines, dies, and wedges, hoppers, conveyors, during and after changeovers.
  • Completes all required paperwork as an operation or activity is completed.
  • Fills out the LUMAC logbooks correctly.
  • Cleans, checks, and verifies that the correct timing gear for the Blister and bottle lines.
  • Cleans pumps, clamps, nozzles, pipes and makes new medicine hoses.
  • Cleans, checks, and verifies that the appropriate heat settings for the dies and wedges are set for the condition of the PVC and the speed (RPM) of the Blister machines.
  • Prepares complete sets (dies, pumps, clamps, hoses, etc.) readily for other shifts to use when there is a change over.
  • Completes major cleanup for weekend.
  • Checks/verifies there is air pressure to the dies.
  • Checks/verifies all dies are at 0 point alignment evenly.
  • Checks/verifies the correct machine speed (RPM) is used.
  • Checks/verifies the conveyors and label machines are working properly.
  • Checks/verifies the ampoules being made at the machine meets specification and uniformed (i.e. Seams: sealed, not leak, shape etc.)
  • Connects manifold or hopper to machine.
  • Crossed trained to runs the Blister or Bottle line if needed.

  • 1-2 years’ work-experience as a machine operator and/or 1 year machine set-up experience.
  • Ability to use calculator to add, multiply, subtract and divide decimals and basic units of measure.
  • Communication Skills (Written/Oral) - able to document clearly, concisely and accurately in order to ensure effective department operations.
