Compliance Coordinator

Some people see regulations and immediately look for the nearest exit.

Others grab a highlighter, start taking notes, and genuinely want to understand every detail.

If you're in the second group, keep reading.

Residential Resources of Maine is seeking a Compliance Coordinator to help ensure we meet the highest standards of quality, accountability, and regulatory compliance across the services we provide to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

This is not a role for someone who wants to spend their day checking boxes.

This is a role for someone who loves understanding complex requirements, organizing detailed information, identifying gaps before they become problems, and helping others build confidence in doing things the right way.

About Us
At Residential Resources, we provide residential, community, and support services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Maine. Every day, our team works to help people live meaningful, self-directed lives in their homes and communities.

We're proud of our mission, but we're equally proud of our culture.
We believe great organizations are built by great people. We work hard, support one another, laugh often, and genuinely care about the people we serve and the colleagues we work alongside. You'll find leaders who are approachable, teammates who jump in to help, and a workplace where your expertise and ideas are valued.

What You'll Do
  • In this role, you'll serve as a key partner in helping our organization stay compliant, organized, and audit-ready.
  • Responsibilities include:
  • Monitoring and interpreting state, federal, and agency regulations
  • Translating complex requirements into practical guidance that staff can understand and use
  • Conducting internal audits and compliance reviews
  • Supporting quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
  • Tracking compliance requirements, deadlines, corrective actions, and documentation with exceptional accuracy
  • Assisting departments in preparing for audits, reviews, and inspections
  • Identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Supporting leaders and staff in understanding regulatory expectations
  • Helping create systems and processes that make compliance easier and more effective
  • Gathering information and documentation from multiple departments while maintaining positive working relationships

You Might Be a Great Fit If...
  • You genuinely enjoy reading policies, regulations, and technical guidance
  • You are highly organized and rarely let details slip through the cracks
  • You are comfortable holding people accountable while remaining patient and supportive
  • You enjoy teaching, coaching, and helping others understand complicated information
  • You love spreadsheets, tracking systems, and well-organized documentation
  • You can balance precision with practicality
  • You are curious, analytical, and naturally ask questions when something doesn't make sense
  • You find satisfaction in bringing order to complexity

What We Offer
  • Meaningful work that makes a difference in people's lives
  • A collaborative and supportive team environment
  • Leadership that values continuous learning and improvement
  • Opportunities to influence systems, processes, and organizational quality
  • Competitive compensation and benefits
  • A culture that believes compliance isn't about "catching mistakes" but about protecting the people we support and helping our teams succeed

A Final Thought
We know this role isn't for everyone.
But if you've ever found yourself reading regulations because you actually wanted to understand them, if you've had the urge to color-code audit folders, or if helping people turn confusion into confidence sounds rewarding to you, we'd love to hear from you.
Join us in helping ensure that great services are supported by great systems.
