Skilled Laborer w/ Commercial Driver’s License

Position Overview
Our Asphalt Laborers are critical in getting our asphalt jobs done. We’re seeking reliable team members looking to get their foot in the door in a growing company. These positions are full-time, seasonal positions with 9+ months of consistent work per year. Overtime can and will be required during peak season (April – November). This position is many responsible for labor intensive activities to include, but not limit to: picking, shoveling, hand or vibro-plate compacting, operating various tools, etc. This specific position also requires an active valid Commercial Driver’s License in order to support the moving of equipment, driving materials to and from worksites, and delivering product as assigned.

Position Responsibilities & Performance Objectives
The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Physical ability to perform work required, safely, in a construction environment.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Learn assigned tasks, ask questions, and recognize safety concerns.
  • Provide superior service to customers and team members.
  • Work nights and weekends as necessary throughout peak months.
  • Drive pilot vehicles at times.
  • Drive various construction trucks to an from various site locations.
  • Understand and comply with all Federal, State and Company policies.
Physical Demands
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, and/or kneeling
  • Lifting up to 50lbs
  • Bending, stretching, climbing and even crawling are times.
  • Stationary positioning for long periods of time.
  • Vision requirements for this position include distance vision, close vision, depth perception and color discrimination.

Skills & Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred, but not required.
  • Valid and active Commercial Driver’s License + Medical Card.
  • Ability to maintain Motor Vehicle Driving record and consistently meet company policies and standards.
  • Ability to operate construction equipment as trained and assigned.
  • Previous experience in the asphalt industry, a plus.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend the English language.
  • Willingness to work closely as a team to get the job done.
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime, to include nights and weekends during peak months.

Applicants must be 21 years of age to drive a commercial vehicle and 20 years of age for all other vehicles; valid driver's license and company approved driving record is required if authorized to drive either a company or personal vehicle for business purposes.
