DEMAND ANALYST DETAILS
Summit Materials is seeking a valuable team member to join our Sales and Operations Planning team, as a Demand Analyst. This position will take responsibility in the build out of our systems and processes as well as long-term supporting our greater organization. Developing plans and analyzing data to optimize quarry forecasting and ultimately impacting plans across many functions including operations, sales, and finance.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES FOR OUR SUPPLY ANALYST
  • Leads the S&OP demand planning process to build and align on 18 month rolling forecast by operating company and quarry location based on commercial team and statistical forecast inputs.
  • Analyzes and adjusts baseline forecast utilizing trends, inventory levels and evolving sales plans.
  • Maintains scorecard data to continually monitor and optimize forecast performance.
  • Develops projects to improve the Demand Planning organization and efficiency.
  • Responsible to create an account and SKU level demand plan using top-down and bottom-up forecasting methods.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Sales, Finance, to align on demand plan.
  • Manage, execute, and continually develop and refine the demand planning processes and tools
  • Provides recommendations and contributes to some strategic as well as shot- to medium-term tactical planning with impact on multiple areas
  • Analyze large volumes of information, evaluate, and resolve complex issues in rapidly changing and often ambiguous environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF A SUPPLY ANALYST
  • This role will be in a controlled office environment within our Denver, CO headquarters.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Related work experience; 5-7 years of experience in supply chain planning, operations management, or related discipline
  • Expert knowledge full understanding of interdependencies of forecasting, transportation, distributor operations, sales, marketing, and budgets.  Working knowledge and of production and capacity planning, scheduling processes, distribution methods, inventory management, material flow and planning.
  • Advanced supply chain management systems and process knowledge.
  • APICS/ASCM certification preferred
WHAT WILL PUT YOU AHEAD
  • Related industry knowledge.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • APICS/ASCM certification
  • Specific knowledge of SAP IBP, Blue Yonder, o9, or other Supply Management tools.
