TRUCK DRIVER CDL DETAILS
American Materials is searching for a Truck Driver with Commercial Drivers License for entry-level and experienced drivers to support our day-to-day operations. Our drivers are one of our most critical roles, with a primary function based around safety, delivery of products and materials to customers’ plants and work sites. Productivity based compensation and a well-rounded team environment makes this a great opportunity for growth within our team.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES FOR OUR TRUCK DRIVER CDL
  • Maintaining and ensuring a safe work environment.
  • Perform daily pre/post trip inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with DOT guidelines and company policies.
  • Obey applicable laws, following dispatch instructions.
  • Maintain daily vehicle mileage logs.
  • Load and unload materials as dispatched.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly condition of trucks and equipment.
  • Follow directions of manager as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite.
  • Perform general labor duties when necessary; and other duties as assigned.
  • Strict adherence to company Safety Practices & Procedures, as well as general policies and procedures as outlined in both the safety handbook and employee handbook.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF A TRUCK DRIVER CDL
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, and/or kneeling
  • Lifting between 50-100lbs
  • Bending, stretching, climbing, and even crawling at times.
  • Stationary positioning for long periods of time.
  • Vision requirements for this position include distance vision, close vision, depth perception and color discrimination.

REQUIREMENTS  
  • Hold a current and valid Commercial Driver’s License, Class B minimum.
  • Hold and maintain a valid medical card.
  • Maintain a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that complies with company policies and standards.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend the English language, while communicating effectively.
  • Applicants must be 21 years of age to drive a commercial vehicle.

WHAT WILL PUT YOU AHEAD
  • Current valid Commercial Driver’s License, Class A.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
