Position SummaryThe Senior Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the Accounts Payable function for The Setai Miami Beach. This position ensures the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all vendor payments, financial transactions, reconciliations, and reporting activities while maintaining strong internal controls and compliance with company policies. The role serves as a strategic business partner to department leaders, corporate finance teams, and vendors, providing financial guidance and driving process improvements to support operational excellence in a luxury hospitality environment.
Essential Responsibilities- Lead and manage all accounts payable operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, expense reports, and vendor payments.
- Develop, implement, and maintain best practices, internal controls, and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Oversee vendor relationships, negotiate payment terms when appropriate, and resolve complex discrepancies and disputes.
- Manage cash disbursement activities, including check runs, ACH payments, wire transfers, and international payments.
- Direct month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts payable, including accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Partner closely with department heads and senior leadership to monitor expenditures, manage budgets, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Analyze accounts payable metrics, identify trends, and provide recommendations to improve efficiency, controls, and financial performance.
- Support internal and external audits by ensuring complete and accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop Accounts Payable team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Participate in system implementations, upgrades, and process enhancement initiatives to improve operational effectiveness.
- Serve as a key liaison between Finance, Procurement, Operations, and corporate stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive accounting and accounts payable experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
- Previous luxury hospitality, hotel, or resort experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial controls, accounts payable processes, and audit requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP and hospitality financial systems.
- Demonstrated leadership, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and operate effectively in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
