We are looking for a talented AutoChem Technologist to join our Tacoma, WA laboratory. The AutoChem Tech is responsible for initial screening tests at Cordant.  Testing may be performed on automated chemistry analyzers for immunoassay screening.  Sample validity testing is also performed by the Auto Chemistry Technologist.

The schedule for this position will be Tuesday-Saturday from 2p-10:30p.

Essential Duties
  • Reviewing and Releasing Screening Results
  • Performing Sample Validity Testing
  • Preparing Standards, Controls, and Reagents
  • Performing Instrument Maintenance
  • Validation of Controls and Reagents
  • Collection and Documentation of Department Metrics
  • Validations of Instruments and Methods
  • Training new Automated Chemistry Technologists

Education/Experience
  • This position requires a registered ASCP, MT, MLT or eligible or BS degree in a related science field.
OR
 
  • Have at least 60 documented credit hours from an accredited institution that must include:
    • at least 6 credit hours of biology
    • at least 6 credit hours of chemistry
    • at least an additional 12 credit hours of biology, chemistry or medical laboratory courses
    • 3 months laboratory training
  • Some laboratory experience a plus

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Knowledge of Automated Chemistry system preferred (Advia 2400 or Olympus 640, 2700, or 5400)
  • Knowledge of pH meter operation preferred
  • Knowledge of Refractometer operation preferred
  • Use of Microsoft Office in particular Word and Excel
  • Attention to detail
