Cordant Health Solutions has an immediate opening for full-time Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Denver, Colorado.  This position is responsible for working the full cycle of accounts payable activities, month-end accruals, and GL reconciliations.  This position liaises with vendors to resolve payables issues and to promote good business relationships. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years prior experience in Accounts Payable and knowledge of best A/P practices.

Essential Functions:
  • Researches and resolves invoice discrepancies and issues
  • Corresponds with vendors and respond to inquires
  • Ensures accuracy and timeliness of payments
  • Manages vendor files
  • Helps to ensure proper company adherence to PO and capex processes
  • Works with accounting team to ensure proper accounting for vendor-related expenses, as well as supports monthly and ad-hoc analysis of AP-related expenses
  • Works cohesively with other departments to resolve any outstanding issues
  • Assists with 1099 processing, year-end reporting, and W-9 procurement
  • Supports month-end accruals and account reconciliations
  • Prepares accounts payable registers on a weekly and monthly basis
 
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma/GED, required
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in Accounts Payable, required
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Good understanding of AP best practices
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting software (Netsuite and AvidXchange knowledge a plus)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficient in data entry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to work under and meet strict deadlines individually as well as in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects/tasks in a fast paced, changing environment.
  • Must have strong computer skills, specifically in Excel
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Problem-solving skills
