Painter


Position Summary  

Under direct supervision, the Painter will be mixing and blending water and solvent- based paint in a variety of finish formulations to the absolute highest standards on our Singer luxury vehicles. Responsibilities include but are not limited to quality assurance inspections and revisions prior to our advanced paint application process, accurately apply multiple coats of paint using a variety of techniques all in a manner that demonstrates, “Everything is Important.” 

 

Essential Functions 

  • Precisely mixing and blending water-based and solvent-based paint to defined standards and in a variety of finish formulations (e.g., pearl, metallics, candied, matte, fluid, etc.). 
  • Ensure paint prep has been completed prior to paint application to ensure the painted surfaces will produce the desired finish. 
  • Accurately apply multiple coats of paint using various paint guns and techniques. 
  • Ensure each coat has been applied properly to adhere to the defined quality and precise application standards. 
  • Assess and paint parts and vehicles in need of repair. 
  • Partner and provide clear communication with other team members and departments involved in the vehicle reconditioning process. 
  • Track and handle hazardous waste according to regulations and company policy. 
  • Follow proper operating rules, procedures, and standardized workflow. 
  • Wear and use required safety equipment (respirator, eye, and skin protectors). 
  • Maintain a clean and productive work environment by keeping tools and supplies organized throughout the Paint department. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

 

Required Qualifications

  • 10 years of hands-on experience with custom paint application to high-end luxury vehicles, hot rods, or restorations. 

 

Preferred Education and/or Experience  

  • Familiarity with painting Porsche 911s. 
  • Familiarity with AkzoNobel and PPG paint application. 
  • Relevant automotive paint certifications are a plus 

 

Skills/Abilities and Attributes  

  • Experience using various tools, paint guns, and techniques for paint application. 
  • Mastered in precisely mixing and blending paint in a variety of formulations. 
  • Perfectionist mindset, very high attention to detail to create precise color samples and keep accurate records 
  • Experienced in prepping and painting different parts and materials including steel, fiberglass, carbon fiber, and composites. 
  • Exacting measurement and formulation skills to achieve specified paint colors and finishes. 
  • Perform quality assurance to precise paint manufacturer and company standards. 
  • Inspires teams with the creative solutions, going above and beyond when developing paint and finishes 
  • Strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to multiple deadlines 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently 
  • Excellent time management with an ability to balance multiple projects and timelines while meeting deadlines 
 

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 5:00 am - 1:30 pm with overtime as needed.

Compensation
The starting pay range for this position is between $29.00 - $36.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined by skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
