Who You are:
     As the Manager, Stores & Material Control, you are responsible for managing the Stores department and providing support to Maintenance for Scheduled and Non Scheduled tasks including AOG in home base and outstations. You have a natural leader and are can successfully implement change processes in a team. You thrive in a fast paced environment and seek new challenges. As the Manager of Stores and Material Control, you are responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of parts in and out of Stores and the hangar floor.

  • Liaise with finance department for monthly inventory reconciliation and ensure physical inventory counts are effective and accurate.
  • General management of the day-to-day warehouse operation and its staff.
  • Reporting to superiors on stock shortages as well as surpluses and adjustment of    stock to reflect correct quantities.
  • Oversee and plan proper inventory levels to meet operational requirements.
  • Understand inventory turnover and ageing and recommend ways to effectively manage and utilize working capital.
  • Ensure correct goods are dispatched after the procedural inspections and packing and labeling to customers or their agents. Particular attention required to those goods which are subject to IAIA Road, Air and Sea regulations.
  • Responsibility for all stores equipment including forklift and immediate reporting of any defect.
  • Monitoring and reporting to Quality Assurance Manager of any dangerous or controlled goods.
  • Responsible for cycle counts, quarantine, certification file, PDP adhered to, and WHMIS.
  • Takes corrective actions for non-confirming parts quality issues as identified/reported by Inventory Control during receiving.
  • Ensures that all Stores personnel are trained in their duties and responsibilities in accordance with established procedures.
  • Ensure stores department has 24/7 coverage.
  • Ensure parts received against the orders are received in Trax.
  • Ensure core returns carried out.
  • Ensure all tools and GSE are timely calibrated.
  • Ensure Cycle counts /annual inventory counts are carried out.
  • Ensure NCP parts are not received.
  • Ensure shelf life parts are removed and scrapped.
  • Extract month end report and liaise with finance department and Air Canada.
  • Ensure DG and Comat procedures are strictly adhered to.
  • Responsible to ensure staff perform their duties and responsibilities in accordance with Skyregional Airlines Inc. MPM and Incorporated Documents like DPDs.
  • Ensure safety is the primary objective by adhering to the Sky Regional Safety Policy.
  • Ensure all safety concerns in the department are addressed to the Health & Safety committee and reports are submitted through SMS if applicable.
  • Maintain excellent working relationship with external suppliers.
  • Ensure the team is replying to all queries in a timely manner and all queries are dealt with correctly and efficiently.
  • Responsible for motivating staff, ensuring good employee morale, handling employee issues, problem solving, analytical skills.
  • Initial and recurrent training of staff with respect to system training and procedures.
  • Maintain accuracy of systems under responsibility.
  • Identifying ways to provide information quickly and accurately by automating processes within the Stores department.
  • Process improvement and writing procedures for Trax and DPD.

  • Bachelor Degree in Procurement/Supply Chain or equivalent experience.
  • Designation in Supply Chain Management from PMAC.  (SCMP) an asset.
  • Minimum 10 years of leadership experience in Purchasing and Inventory Management preferably in aviation industry.
  • Experience with TRAX or similar inventory management system.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing a team.
  • Proven record implementing process improvement.
  • Apply a broad business understanding to improve the performance and processes of the department. Prioritize work in alignment with business goals;
  • Consider whether short-term goals will support long-term objectives. Review own actions against the organization’s strategic plan to ensure alignment;
  • Strategic thinking - Think beyond the department and make decisions in the context of the company corporate objectives;

  • Ensures contingency plans exist for problems and situations that might occur. Redesigns the structure and/or operations of the department or organization to better meet long-term objectives. Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Inventory Management software
  • Extremely detail oriented.
  • Ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Successful Completion of Background Check required to attain and maintain a Transport Canada Clearance (RAIC).
