The Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of Chicago invites applications for a postdoctoral scholar position in cosmic microwave background (CMB) science. Position responsibilities will include developing pipeline tools for both modeling and mitigating systematic effects on the Simons Observatory, publishing scientific papers, and presenting work at scientific conferences, workshops, and reviews.

The appointment is made at 100 percent time for a period of one calendar year, and may be extended on a year-to-year basis for up to an additional two years. Reappointment is contingent upon various factors including, but not limited to, satisfactory performance, work authorization, availability of funding, and programmatic need. Qualifications and Essential Job Functions
• Ph.D. in Physics, Astrophysics, or relevant subject.
• Demonstrated ability to carry out independent research.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills including presentations to large international scientific collaborations, outreach, and/or conferences.
