In support of the strategic communications and marketing program on the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon (SSMO) campus, the Multimedia Specialist works as part of a cohesive, highly collaborative team to support media projects and provide video and photo content for marketing materials, the web and other electronic/digital channels including YouTube, Vimeo, Flickr, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other electronic forms of communication.

The Multimedia Specialist identifies story ideas and develops content to showcase campus programs, people and events to internal and external audiences. The SSMO campus encompasses a diverse group of entities. The Multimedia Specialist will be tasked with providing video/photo coverage of Valley Catholic School events, including sports, concerts, group and individual student and faculty stories, alumni activities and promotions. The Multimedia Specialist will provide coverage of special events and individual stories in support of the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon, the SSMO Foundation, and the skilled nursing and memory care facility, Maryville.

Reporting to the Chief Communications Officer, the Multimedia Specialist will be responsible for producing high quality videos and photos. Additional tasks may include creating and producing livestream events, audio podcasts and files.

The Multimedia Specialist takes still photographs to support print and electronic materials. The Multimedia Specialist works closely with the Marketing Communications Specialist to help develop compelling copy and visual content for campus social media channels and websites.

Expands and maintains campus web and multimedia presence, using a mix of creative storytelling and professional skills.

Participates with staff in developing and implementing creative concepts and ideas for specific projects.

Produces short-form videos; plans, writes, sets-up lighting, shoots, records, edits, and performs all related production activities as well as posting to the web.

Records, edits and posts digital video and/or audio interviews of students, faculty, staff, alumni, Sisters and residents.

Takes still photographs for use in print and electronic materials.

Applies campus brand identity to all appropriate aspects of multimedia and print projects.

Manages and maintains related equipment.

Stores and archives data associated with projects.

Responsible for updating and maintaining the SSMO campus You Tube and Vimeo accounts.

Manages multiple, simultaneous projects with frequently adjusted priorities. Able to work with diverse range of organizations and people.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills:
Bachelor degree in Multimedia Journalism, Communication, or Marketing with an emphasis on video production and photography.
Advanced videography, photography and editing skills.
Advanced knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Creative Suite programs.
Ability to incorporate motion graphics and digital graphics for video.
Creative storyteller with excellent interviewing skills. Journalism background a plus.
One to five years of experience.

Workplace Environment:
The Multimedia Specialist will typically workdays Monday – Friday with some evening/weekend work required, depending on event schedules.
The Multimedia Specialist will be required to work at sporting events (both indoor and outdoor) and in varied religious, educational and healthcare settings. The Multimedia Specialist will need to have the ability to lift and carry 20 – 40 lbs. of equipment and set-up/tear-down equipment at various locations.

The Marketing Communications team is collaborative. The Multimedia Specialist will provide creative input and expertise for a wide range of team projects.
