Valley Catholic High School is looking for a long-term substitute academic/ personal counselor beginning September 27, 2021 and concluding February 11, 2022. Candidates should be well versed not only in the implementation of individualized learning plans (similar to 504 plans) but also in assisting students with a variety of social and emotional challenges that are typical during adolescent development.
Job Requirements:
  • Successful completion of a Master’s Degree in Counseling/ Human Services or equivalent
  • Valid School Counselor license preferred/ and or previous experience as a school counselor
  • The knowledge, skills and abilities to:
    • Implement a comprehensive school counseling program for all students
    • Implement effective learning plans and academically support students of all abilities
    • Evaluate and assess student performance and progress
    • Facilitate communication between students, parents, teachers, and administrators
    • Use research-based theories and best-practices appropriate to school counseling
    • Maintain a positive and safe learning environment for all students
    • Adhere to professional, ethical, and legal standards
