Valley Catholic Middle School is looking for a STEM teacher (with expertise in model building and Design Thinking) with a passion for teaching middle school students.  This position is for four sections (.8 FTE, Benefits Eligible) of co-teaching a STEM project-based learning class where the teacher’s expertise in design, model building and working with various mediums will be incorporated into project-based assessments that follow the design process.
Job Requirements:
•             Successful art or STEM teaching experience
•             Experience teaching the design thinking process
•             Plan and implement lessons in accordance with Oregon State and Archdiocesan standards that follow the design process and incorporate cross curricular project based learning
•             Evaluate and assess student performance and progress
•             Establish a positive learning environment that promotes a high level of achievement
•             Manage student behavior for the purpose of providing an optimal and safe learning environment
•             Enhance curriculum by developing lessons that utilize technology
•             Preference given to applicants that hold a current Oregon Teaching License with a Certification/endorsements in visual arts
•             Be willing to serve the school community in other capacities
