Valley Catholic Early Learning School is seeking a Chef/Kitchen Manager to prepare, serve, and clean up after lunch and two daily snacks for 145 children. Ordering, inventory, and managing the kitchen budget are also part of the job. Hours are 7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M., Monday through Friday.

Requirements include at least one year of cooking experience in a commercial or institutional setting; the ability to regularly lift up to 30 pounds, occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, and bend, stretch, kneel, and lift on a frequent basis; a proven track record of reliable attendance; current enrollment or the ability to enroll in the ELD Central Background Registry; an Oregon Food Handler's License; and ServSafe certification or the ability to earn it within 90 days of hire.
 
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of seasonal cooking, experience in ordering and inventory control, good time management, and the ability to interact positively with children and their families. The chef will have the autonomy to create the monthly menu and manage the kitchen budget, according to guidelines established by the principal.
