The Special Projects Manager will be responsible for several projects simultaneously outside of the Special Services department’s daily routine.  He/She will work in concert with all other departments within Starr Electric to ensure the most efficient and effective processes and procedures are taking place. The Special Projects Manager will be responsible for planning and scheduling customer meetings, assisting with estimating, and maintaining documentation on assigned projects. He/She will maintain professional relationships with client contacts to ensure satisfaction with work performed. This position requires an individual who is a team player with strong inter-personal and organizational skills, safety oriented, effective attention to detail, the ability to problem solve, juggle multiple projects, and adjust work accordingly to adapt to tight deadlines. This position requires a continual positive attitude and displays a professional image.

Duties and Responsibilities – Essential Functions:

  • Oversee the Electric Vehicle Charger market which includes, but not limited to, conducting research, reviewing, evaluating, and analyzing statistical data, proposals, and administrative reports, prepare summaries, narrative analyses, and recommendations.
  • Oversee specific partnerships in relation to service opportunities.
  • Assist in the planning, organizing, and scheduling of activities relating to management of projects including project handoff to operations.
  • Responsible for market change knowledge associated with any given project and being proactive in the response to that change.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, job-planning meetings, and job progress meetings, as required.
  • Maintains positive relationships with others in the organization by instilling a positive, upbeat work climate.
  • Occasionally travels to jobsites, divisions, or other locations to perform functions.
  • Supports and administers office administrative functions, as directed by appropriate management.
  • Follow all applicable safety requirements to the highest possible standard.
  • Actively engage and/or assist in the marketing efforts of Starr Electric Company as deemed necessary to further the goals of the company.
  • Actively communicate with business development, account management, and operations to establish an ongoing growth environment.
Education, Experience, and/or Prerequisites Preferred:
    • Bachelors’ Degree in business, construction, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
    • 5 years of business development and/or specific project-based management experience.
    • Knowledge, experience, and the ability to speak intelligently with customers.
    • Proven leadership skills and a track record developing business relationships.
    • Inter-personal skills, communication skills and team-based project experience.
    • A passion for developing new business in a fast-paced growing environment.
    • A valid drivers’ license and a clean driving record.
