Location: Schaumburg, Illinois

The Position:

Roosevelt University (RU) is seeking a visionary leader to establish and maintain a high-quality Physician Assistant (PA) program at its Schaumburg, IL campus. The university was founded in 1945 explicitly to promote equity, access and social justice in higher education. This core mission and institutional DNA will differentiate RU’s PA program from other Chicago-area programs in several key areas:
  • Admissions, recruitment, and outreach that intentionally focuses on expanding access for underrepresented and first-generation students in the health professions.
  • Clinical training emphasizing the integration of evidence-based practice and cultural competence to promote equitable health outcomes across diverse populations and reduce disparities.
  • Curriculum that incorporates themes like health equity, cultural humility, advocacy, and community medicine as core competencies.

With a focus on educating future clinicians to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care and champion health equity across diverse populations, this is an extraordinary opportunity to build a transformative program from the ground up, develop an innovative curriculum, form strategic partnerships, and attract a diverse student body. The Program Director should demonstrate a commitment to inclusive pedagogy, student support and success, and building a culture where learners from underrepresented backgrounds thrive. If you are passionate about shaping healthcare education and want to create a program that will have a lasting impact, we invite you to join RU in this inspiring mission.

The Inaugural Program Director will provide leadership for all aspects of an emergent PA program. The Program Director is responsible for the organization, administration, fiscal management, continuous review and analysis, planning, development, and provisional accreditation of the PA program. Additionally, the Program Director is responsible for ensuring the program complies with the ARC-PA throughout the accreditation process. Once accreditation is obtained, the Program Director is responsible for ensuring the program remains in compliance. Applicants should have demonstrated expertise in these areas. The Program Director reports to the Dean of the College of Science, Health and Pharmacy and will supervise the Medical Director, principal faculty, and staff.

The director must be able to work effectively with multiple offices on campus (Admissions, Financial Aid, Finance) and with select external constituents.
