Role Summary

Join our team as Director of Private & Social Events and become one of the authors of our story at Stanly Ranch in Napa, situated at the gateway to the Napa Valley.  As part of the Auberge family, you will immediately become a key contributor to the development of unique one-of-a-kind events for our guests and residential owners.  This stunning property with contemporary event space will provide a blank canvas upon which you can create a vast array of special gatherings and meetings that will be reflective of the Stanly Ranch experience.

Core Responsibilities
The key responsibilities for this position are:

Planning and Organizing
  • Participate in the preparation and implementation of the hotel’s strategic plan.
  • Develop the annual events revenue and profit target.
  • Develop local and global business relationships that will drive catering revenue to the resort.

Operations and Product Quality
  • Liaise with the Culinary team to ensure that event menus are aligned with resort identity and client/guest expectations.
  • Approve all event orders and group resumes.
  • Facilitate and attend all group pre-con meetings.
  • Manage the assignment of all event spaces .
  • Partner with the group sales team to ensure total client satisfaction throughout the group booking and event experience.

Financial
  • Achieve social and group food & beverage revenue goals.
  • Manage expenses to ensure profitability.
  • Ensure financial responsibility and credit approval for social catering events.
  • Ensure team members understand their role in the financial success of the department.
  • Ensure that payment is collected in accordance with all contractual obligations; work with Finance department to resolve billing discrepancies and/or inquiries; ensure team adherence to all guidelines on waiver of fees, adjustments, etc.
  • Provide updated monthly forecasts for catering food & beverage revenue.
  • Prepare monthly reports of pickup and lost business.

Departmental Leadership
  • Ensure that the Events team are aware of hotel standards & client/guest expectations for successful event planning & execution
  • Direct, counsel, train, evaluate performance, and hire all departmental team members in accordance with ENRICH values and other applicable team standards.
  • Coach and guide new members of the team, develop/deliver ongoing training and development for team members.
  • Ensure that all relevant events information events is communicated accurately and timely with all appropriate departments.
  • Ensure 15-day forecast of events is communicated weekly.
  • Take the lead in resolving any issues or complaints regarding events.
  • Liaise with T&C overall team member matters including recruitment and interviewing.
  • Manage payroll and business expenses of the department.
  • Conduct daily rallies with team members.

Health & Safety
  • Ensure that all events meet current Napa County Health Department regulations, including all COVID requirements.
  • Ensure all work areas in the various event spaces are maintained in top condition.
  • Ensure we maintain a safe working environment.

Marketing & Guest Relations
  • Ensure appropriate pre- and post-event communication, building sustainable relationships with clients/guests to ensure repeat business.
  • Attend guest and official functions as a representative of the resort.
  • Be present in the community (in person and on-line) – as a representative of Auberge culinary expertise - creating powerful positive impressions.
  • Deliver and exceed the expectations of a sophisticated 21st-century luxury consumer.

Required Qualifications
 
  • 5 years of event/catering leadership experience in 5-star / luxury hotel operations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of food and wine; appreciation for local products
  • Knowledge and passion for sourcing locally
  • Requires work on unstructured schedule, availability on evenings, weekends, and Holidays
