Role Summary

Responsible to keep and maintain clean and free of stains, rugs, room’s furniture cushions, pool cushions and restaurant’s chairs cushions.

To ensure the smooth and professional cleaning and servicing of the premises - linen closets, rooms, patios, light scones, picking up dirty linens and trash, as well delivering clean linen and other amenities or miscellaneous  to restock linen closets. Houseman reports directly to the Executive Housekeeper Manager and is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and all areas of the hotel, working closely with the housekeeping and laundry team. So that laundry and other departmental items are always promptly replenished and guests have a seamless experience
 

Core Responsibilities

The key responsibilities for this position are:

  • Review daily assignment sheets and update completed assignments.  Check with the supervisor for additional assignments throughout the shift.

  • Start cleaning cushions or rugs according to the assignment for the day.

  • Strip vacant rooms by removing soiled linen and trash when needed.

  • Load/unload linen and supplies in/out of cart following departmental standards.  

  • Transport linen and supplies from golf cart/cart to designated areas

  • Organize and stock all incoming linen from Laundry in closets

  • Monitor and maintain designated supply levels.

  • Maintain and monitor cleanliness of work areas.

  • Assist housekeeping staff as assigned. Engage each guest with a smile and appropriate greeting, using the guest’s name whenever appropriate.  Graciously accommodate guest requests.

  • Make suggestions for improvement in overall operations with an emphasis on increasing guest satisfaction, revenue and cost reduction.

  • Work in accordance with hotel and departmental safety standards.

  • Use all hotel equipment safely and properly.

  • Perform other duties as directed, developed or assigned.

 

Required Qualifications

  • One year’s experience in a similar position.

  • High school graduate or equivalent vocational training.

  • Ability to speak in English with guests, co-workers and managers.

  • Ability to read labels, instructions and checklists.

  • Ability to drive a golf cart.

  • Confidence and ability to perform under pressure

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a luxury Resort
  • Bilingual
