Role Summary
The Host is a vital member of the service team, they are responsible for controlling the bookings of the restaurant, providing a warm welcome to all guests as they enter the building, checking them in through the reservation system, escorting the guests to their table, answering the phone, making reservations, maintaining accurate status updates throughout service and sincere goodbye. The host will also be relaying information to the guests as they enter the building. The ideal candidate will be exuding warmth, outgoing, professional, and has a strong ability to multitask.
Core Responsibilities
- Properly answer guest inquiries with regards to restaurant hours of operation and basic operational information of the property.
- Must be able to Multi-task and genuine hospitality when “finding the yes” for all guests.
- Ensures that the restaurant and dining room team exudes excellence
- Act as a liaison between the guest, management, service staff and kitchen and communicate accordingly . Distiputing chits when appropriate to necessary team members.
- Take action to “build the book” while taking into consideration both the needs of the business and the needs of our guests.
- Have a working knowledge of Opentable and comfort with all functions required for completing side work and during service. This includes, but is not limited to status changes, use of the waitlist function, guest searches and reservations.
Required Qualifications

Must have fine dining experience. High volume experience is a plus.

Needs to have previous hospitality experience.

1-3 years of experience in reservations or as host, or equivalent restaurant experience

Good Communicator – ability to understand, speak & follow written and verbal instruction in English

Attention to detail & well organized

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Have a minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.

Must be fluent in English. Some Spanish is preferred.

Working knowledge of Opentable, Resy, ect
