Restaurant Food Runner (Napa Valley, CA)

Role Summary

The restaurant food runner is imperative to the restaurant operation. The food runner will be responsible for graciously delivering food to tables and assisting the kitchen in set up and break down of the runner station within the restaurant. This individual will be responsible for the knowledge of the food menu. The food runner will constantly be in communication with the service team, management, and culinary team.

Core Responsibilities

The key responsibilities for this position are:

• Will have the ability to memorize a food menu. 

• This individual will spiel the guest on each food menu item. 

• The food runner will be responsible for the setup and breakdown of the food runner station. 

• There will be a basic understanding of allergens within each dish. 

Required Qualifications

• High volume restaurant experience is a plus. 

• There will be clear and concise communication between the food runner, service team, and culinary team.

• Needs to have previous hospitality experience. 

• Education: Have a minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. 

• ServeSafe Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• General knowledge of food and food preparation techniques

• Attention to detail & well organized

• Team-oriented

• Prioritization & multi-tasking

• Maintains open communication with management
