Job Description
Position Summary:
Trusted Space is seeking an experienced Mission Engineer – Ground Lead to oversee and coordinate the technical integration efforts of multiple vendors supporting a proliferated space architecture. This role will serve as the primary engineering integrator across government and industry teams, with a focus on ensuring seamless interoperability and mission effectiveness of ground systems supporting our customer’s architectures.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the mission engineer for ground systems integration, coordinating efforts across multiple space, ground, and network vendors.
  • Evaluate and analyze the architecture products including but not limited to CONOPS, operational concept descriptions, and system architecture diagrams, to ensure that they remain aligned with program execution and provide the necessary guidance to enable program delivery.
  • Drive the end-to-end technical integration of ground systems, ensuring they support mission planning, command and control, data routing, across the architecture.
  • Support/lead technical exchanges, interface control efforts, and working groups to align stakeholders on system requirements, interfaces, and architecture decisions.
  • Ensure ground system readiness for mission operations through oversight of integration and test campaigns, validation exercises, and readiness reviews.
  • Manage the development and implementation of interface control documents (ICDs), CONOPS, and system-level requirements.
  • Collaborate with customer program managers and technical leads to assess vendor progress, identify integration risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Support mission rehearsals, anomaly resolution, and post-launch activities for ground systems across the architecture.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and architectures to inform future tranches and technology insertions.
 Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in space or ground systems engineering, with at least 3 years in technical leadership or integration role.
  • Proven experience managing system integration efforts across multiple contractors or mission partners.
  • Strong understanding of DoD space ground segments, including mission operations centers, data transport networks, and cybersecurity practices.
  • Familiarity with DoD and/or IC space and ground architectures
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional technical teams
  • Clearance Required: Top Secret/SCI
Desired Skills
  • Master’s degree in a relevant technical field.
  • Familiarity with Agile program execution and rapid acquisition methods.
  • Experience with interface management, MBSE, and system-of-systems engineering approaches.

Salary Range: The salary range for this role is $180,000-$290,000.
