Job Summary
Working in the IT Department is very fast paced as we strive to meet the needs of our customers.  The IT Support Specialist serves as one of the primary contacts for end-user’s technical requests.  This position will assist with general management of the IT infrastructure and will be assigned various tasks and projects by the IT Manager such as hardware/software maintenance, network maintenance, ERP troubleshooting, server support, IT documentation, and other IT related tasks.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • 1st line of support for daily IT requests
  • Communicates with users via phone, chat, email, and/or a support ticketing system to assess the scope of the problem and determine what, if any, resolution steps users have performed
  • Install and configure end-user computers, printers, VOIP, mobile phones (iPhone), conference rooms, video and security cameras.
  • Analyze hardware, software, and network problems using diagnostic tools, troubleshooting procedures, and excellent analytical skills
  • Monitor and troubleshoot satellite offices and out of state plant locations via Kaseya and Splashtop remote tools.
  • Assist in planning, evaluation, and implementation of IT infrastructure changes, upgrades, and procedures
  • Evaluates expanding or enhanced computer operations; makes recommendations for improvement and upgrades to hardware and software to manage workload and system requirements.

  • Windows servers (Domains, Active Directory, etc.)
  • TCP/IP networks and related functions (routing, switches, firewalls, VPNs)
  • Ability to execute daily backup procedures and assist in recovery planning and execution
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot general computer, OS, application, and network issues
  • Understand basic networking concepts

Education and Experience
  • Two years of experience or Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Reliable vehicle and a valid license id for local travel between locations
  • Minimal travel but travelling to satellite offices is required
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Carry up to 60 pounds
