A Tool Technician is responsible for the daily maintenance, upkeep and repair of all dies, fixtures and tools. Ensure that dies/sizers are always in working condition. Support production and maintenance departments from a tooling and machine aspect.
Responsible for the efficient changing and trouble shooting of all extrusion dies/sizers/mixers and assemblies on the extrusion production lines.
Responsible for the learning of how mixers/sizers/ dies are assembled/disassembled and stored
Contribute to the ongoing organization of the tooling inventory program;
Reporting to the Tooling Manager and/or the Tooling Lead 

Responsibilities Include:
  •  Clean, assemble, transport, and perform tooling changes on Extrusion production lines in an efficient manner under the direction of the tooling lead or Tooling manager
  • Disassemble dies/sizers/mixers to prepare for cleaning, repair and storage in appropriate inventory locations • Initiate and perform preventive maintenance on dies/sizers/mixers to keep them in working order
  • Perform repairs on dies, fixtures and tools.
  • Work with Production/ Maintenance on all tooling issues and troubleshooting  
  • Follow all safety procedures and support all safety projects

Qualifications to be considered for hire include:
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Good physical shape 
  • Experience working with machine tools and powered machine tools required
  • Knowledge of basic electrical a plus
  • Good communication and judgement skills 
  • Good team player
  • Experience driving a forklift
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
Shift Hours:
7:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Rotating 2-week schedule:
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday (48 hours)
Week 2:  Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday (36 hours)
