Job Summary

The Financial Analyst – Capital Projects will create capital (CAPEX) forecasts, business plans, and budgets while comparing the analyzed findings to actuals. The position will assist in reporting and project expense classification. Additionally, the Analyst is expected to make suitable predictions and recommendations based on the comparisons.
Role and Responsibilities
  • Partner with FP&A Manager, Accounting Manager, and Business Unit Controllers, and CFO though the management of the capital budgeting process.
  • Assist the Corporate Controller with monthly CAPEX reporting.
  • Manage capital cash and depreciation forecasting through collaboration with plant network controllers on project timing and centrally tracking large capital payment timing.
  • Work in partnership with the engineering and plant management teams on capital budgeting, CAR/PMO creation, project tracking and analysis, including project financial returns.
  • Develop centralized capital tracking process across 3 primary business segments alongside project owners to improve spend tracking and effectively flag project spend and timeline risk.
  • Manage facility CAPEX spend tracking to budget through collaboration with plant network controllers on project execution.
  • Performs other ad-hoc related duties as assigned.
Required skills/abilities
  • Demonstrated experience with ERP systems software (Infor Syteline & Epicor preferred).
  • Microsoft Excel experience (pivot tables, vlookups/hlookups, sumifs, graphs/charts)
  • Strong analytical abilities and organization required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in finance and/or accounting
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience in privately-held manufacturing businesses preferred.
  • 3+ years of strong experience in financial analysis preferred.
