Job summary
The Planning function is crucial to drive collaboration across the overall Tangent value stream. The ability to co-ordinate and direct resources based upon demand requirements is critical in achieving Customer Service Excellence while controlling Inventory levels.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff.
  • Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of the department.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the competence, training and development of the Planning team, and ensure the functional teams adhere to SOP and Work Instructions.
  • Facilitate collaborative processes with key functional teams (i.e. Production, Purchasing, Sales, and Finance) that drive master production scheduling definition.
  • Provide leadership in all demand management and planning related processes.
  • Manage and provide oversight and direction to the planning team to ensure the coordination and development to of a master production schedule that optimizes customer satisfaction and supports revenue plan.
  • Provide functional management to direct reports, providing support and leadership.
  • Accountable to execute a Best People strategy, leaders will focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning and ensuring their employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential.
  • Monitor revenue shipment against plan, identifying gaps and drive resolution.
  • Participate in the monthly forecast process, ensuring alignment of operational capability.
  • Drive culture of continuous improvement throughout the team.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to effectively train others.
  • Proven negotiation, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to exercise tact, courtesy, and ethics when dealing with vendors, co-workers, and customers.
  • Extensive working knowledge of Enterprise Requirements Planning (ERP) and demand planning systems
  • Strong Microsoft (MS) Office skills with advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor degree is required.
  • Three (3) years of related experience is required; One (1) or more years of equivalent industry experience is preferred.
  • APICS or equivalent certification is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift-up to 15 pounds at times.
Minimal travel required <10%
