POSITION TITLE: SPA LOCKER ROOM ATTENDANT

POSITION SUMMARY:Clean and maintain the public areas of the spa while supporting the flow of guests in and out of the locker rooms, relaxation areas and all guest amenity bars and spa pool. Be an integral team member in the operation of The Edge Spa. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Follow opening procedures to ensure that all robes, towels, beverages and amenities are ready and stocked in the locker rooms, relaxation area for our guest’s arrival.

  • Pick up laundry from dispensary, rooms and hampers. Stock all lockers and linen throughout the day.

  • Maintain cleanliness and efficiency of prep room throughout the day. Complete cleaning and organizational projects in the prep room as directed by The Director of Spa Operations.

  • Maintains the cleanliness  of the facility to include sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming, and taking out the trash.

  • Fold linen and put away in linen storage room. Ensure that storage room is well organized and clean.

  • Restock all linens in locker rooms and distribute and place linens in treatment rooms (as applicable), workout areas, closets, and dispensary (as applicable).

  • Sterilize all sandals, brushes, headsets and combs in accordance with sterilization procedures.

  • Performs laundry duties, if applicable, including washing, drying, and folding linen.

  • Cleans and sanitizes all wet areas, bathrooms, and grooming areas throughout the day

  • Stock beverage station continuously throughout the day and ensure the locker rooms and relaxation area are clean and organized.

  • Follow closing procedures to ensure that all lockers are stocked for the next day and equipment is turned off.

  • Assist providers with changing of treatment rooms for the next guest.

  • Monitor inventory of supplies throughout the month and report any items that are running low to the Front Desk and Retail Supervisor.

  • Assist Spa Manger  with monthly prep room inventory as needed and directed.

  • Continually strive to improve Spa Attendant procedures, protocols, and efficiency by creating and implementing new systems.

  • Assist with the training of new Spa Locker Room Attendants as directed.

  • Follow-up with Spa manager on all comments, concerns and suggestions made by team members and resort guests.

  • Report to work in appropriate uniform, on time, and well-groomed according to guidelines.

  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions.

  • Available to work holidays, weekends and evenings as needed.

  • Becomes knowledgeable about the facility and its amenities in order to effectively communicate with members and/or guests.

  • Greets each and every guest with a smile and direct eye contact.

  • Reports any incidents or accidents to a member of the management team.

  • Maintain helpful, cooperative relations with coworkers.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A genuine affinity for interacting meaningfully and positively with others.

  • Ability to support the spa operations of the property so as to maximize customer satisfaction, team member performance, and business results.

  • Ability to ensure that visitors to the hotel are delighted by the quality, creativity and variety of our Spa services, and that The Edge Spa is regarded as a strong point of differentiation for the hotel in its local market.

  • Ability to maintain calm during busy periods and treat our guests and our colleagues with respect, and work hard together to deliver the highest quality of service to all.

  • Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision.

  • Professional, polished etiquette, and treatment protocol skills and knowledge.

Required:

  • Previous customer service and or spa experience.

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Ability to work in an environment infused with a variety of scents, such as aromatherapy candles

  • Available to work weekends and holidays

Working Conditions: Tasks are performed indoors and outdoors. Temperature is variable due to seasonal weather conditions. Noise level is usually  moderate.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities:  pushing, pulling, finger dexterity and climbing.

  • Constant need to perform the following physical activities: grasping, lifting, reaching, twisting and bending.

  • While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required to stand for long periods of time, regularly lift and/or move 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 40+ pounds.

  • Able to transport & set-up portable massage tables in guest rooms.  

  • Vision requirements: constant need to view small print.  Frequent need to see small details and things clearly beyond arm's reach.

  • Hearing requirements: constant need to speak on the telephone and/or two-way radio, respond to general public and converse with staff. Ability to hear fire alarms and emergency equipment.
