The Lodge at Blue Sky is nestled between the soaring peaks of Utah’s Wasatch and Uinta mountain ranges, sitting on thousands of acres of some of the world’s most breathtakingly beautiful natural lands just moments from Park City.

ROLE SUMMARY

The Experience Host is responsible for setup, execution, and follow-through of complementary and paid guest experiences at The Lodge at Blue Sky.  They are someone who is organized and efficient while having the ability to host a group of guests and ensure they have a memorable experience.  This person has a strong understanding of how the operations of the hotel work and have a passion for art, yoga, meditation, horses, and the great outdoors.

The Experience Host will also play a key role in operations, helping in every department and aspect of what it takes to run a hotel.  This person will be cross-trained with the ability and confidence to take on any role at The Lodge at Blue Sky.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Guiding inter-departmental execution of special events and weekly activities, events, classes, and programs that allow guests to maximally experience “luxury with wild abandon” and create lasting memories.

  • Training: Coordinate with Talent and Culture to ensure that our Team training program epitomizes Blue Sky and Auberge values and brings the property Journey Map to life for employees. Maintain cooperative relationships and open lines of communication with leaders of operational departments to ensure concept execution of programming and product offerings  

  • Recordkeeping and Personalization: Assist Experience Manager to compile information from surveys, social media, and Glitch reports to identify areas for service opportunities; recording guest preference data gathered from previous stays and inputting into PMS systems and Open Table.

  • Perform administrative duties necessary to remain organized, efficient, and forward-focused.

  • Executing: Blue Sky daily rituals for guests and employees; continuous oversight and guidance of inter-departmental execution.

  • Maintain confidentiality and security of specified resort information, correspondence, reports, and files.

  • Participate in and support hotel and company efforts towards sustainability and environmental initiatives as part of the Planet Auberge program.

  • Assist Operations in day-to-day functions and tasks, based on property needs and business demands.

  • Any additional duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three years of experience with high-standard guest service experience, preferably in hospitality.

  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate success with developing and executing personalized services: possibly including coordinating events and activities, catering, retail, and/or interior design.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, ideally in event management, hospitality or business.

  • Be a natural leader with a positive demeanor and a sense of adventure who regularly enjoys outdoor, nature, and adventure activities.

 

SKILLS

  • Demonstrated excellence in high-paced operations or events role.

  • Ability to creatively execute programs that bring the property identity to life from initiation to execution; adapt and revise plans as developments necessitate in real-time by providing feedback to Experience Manager.

  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, constantly evolving work environment.

  • Ability to multi-task and coordinate multiple projects at once.

  • Ability to make smart decisions that support resort operations.

  • Ability to professionally represent the resort and interact with guests in a polished, responsible, and timely manner.

  • Ability to communicate information to operational departments accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Extensive breadth and depth of knowledge as relates to The Lodge at Blue Sky, sister Auberge properties, and the local area.

  • Must be both “Team” focused, and a self-motivated, adaptable, innovative, and independent worker. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; pleasant and professional phone and correspondence demeanor.

  • Creative and proactive thinker and problem-solver with high-level organizational, research, and product-sourcing skills. 

  • Computer-literate: ability to confidently and effectively navigate a variety of programs, including but not limited to Google Suite, HMS, Unifocus, Trip Advisor, Yelp, OpenTable, and social networking platforms.

  • Proven professional networking, sourcing, and negotiating skills.

  • Ability to take on new responsibilities and roles as the position demands, both administratively and operationally.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Frequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities: reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting, and climbing. Frequent need to perform standing and walking activities related to inspecting the property. 

  • The constant need to perform the following physical activities: grasping, turning, finger dexterity. 

  • Occasional need to stand for long periods of time. 

  • Lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs. frequently 

  • Vision requirements: the constant need to view small print. Frequent need to see small details and things clearly beyond arms’ reach. 

  • Hearing requirements: the constant need to speak on the telephone and/or two-way radio, respond to the general public and converse with staff. Ability to hear fire alarms and emergency equipment.
