Originally built in 1909 by Alfred Vanderbilt of the wealthy Vanderbilt family, The Vanderbilt is a vintage Newport mansion meticulously restored to its former glory, just minutes from the vibrant Newport waterfront. 

 
Role Summary
Join our team as a Server Assistant for the Mayflower Inn & Spa, serving the needs of the business, our guests, and our colleagues by ensuring outstanding experiences at all times.

Core Responsibilities
Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done!  Within the Auberge family, our people always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their team-mates.   Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:
  • Assisting the Servers in delivering a memorable dining experience by;
    • Watering tables
    • Taking drink orders
    • Food running
    • Pre-bussing
    • Refilling drinks
    • Bussing Table
  • Comply with Mayflower Inn & Spa / Forbes standards in use within the Restaurant outlets.
  • Contribute to improving the F&B sales revenues by being knowledgeable about all menu items.
  • Use safe food handling procedures and maintain a safe working environment by using proper food-handling skills and food safety guidelines. 

Required Qualifications

  • deal candidate possess a minimum of 1 year experience in food service/hospitality.
  • Hospitality Certificate or Degree preferred. Serve Safe Certification highly appreciated.

  • A good knowledge of food and wine is highly appreciated. Professional appearance and manner, good character to work in a fast-paced team. Positive, honest and energetic work ethic.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and elegantly in English.

  • Able to work on a flexible schedule, including week-ends and holidays, according to department needs.

  • Must be able to stand for at least 8 hours and be able to transport trays weighing up to 30 pounds.
