Our location PAIN MANAGEMENT AND INJURY RELIEF is seeking a professional Medical Assistant who is dependable, positive, patient-focused, and organized with a team-player attitude. This position may require occasional travel to our other clinics, surgery centers and central business office. Mileage reimbursement provided. Must have a valid CA driver's license.

Assists in examination and treatment of patients, answering medical questions and filling medical refills. Performing miscellaneous delegated duties under the direction of physician. This position will also require front and back office administrative duties to be performed as assigned by the office supervisor.


  • Comply with patient needs at all times
  • Inventories medical supplies and materials
  • Reviews scheduled patients' charts to ensure proper documentation and testing results are enclosed
  • Answers patients calls and requests, such as prescription refills
  • Receive money for bills, keeps x-ray and other medical records, performs secretarial tasks, and completes insurance forms
  • Key data into computer to maintain office, patient and billing records
  • Interfaces with surgery centers and other clinics to send or receive pertinent medical information
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Schedules and confirms appointment dates and times with physicians' offices
  • Communicates with clients regarding appointment scheduling, appointment changes, no shows, cancellations, and receipt of medical records and/or images
  • Coordinates with the client to obtain required medical records prior to examination
  • Prepares the chart by ensuring all records required are included, creates a cover letter detailing specific client questions, issues, and service requests and routes to the provider and/or to the exam location prior to examination
  • Communicates with physicians, clients and/or examiner regarding any schedule changes. 

Experience and Education:

  • 1-3 years as a Certified Medical Assistant preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience working in a medical office
  • Customer Service/Phone skills
  • High School diploma; some college coursework preferred
  • Experience in Pain Management, Spine or Orthopedics a plus!
  • EMR/EHR experience is a plus!
  • Out of Network experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Allscripts is a PLUS
