SUMMARY:

The Electrical Maintenance Specialist is directly responsible for electrical projects and preventive maintenance at the NJ location, specifically related to the installation and service of electrical devices required to run the Mill’s paper manufacturing and related machinery.  This role requires a licensed electrician with additional experiences and certifications to perform day-2-day, hands-on electrical services needed to maintain our equipment; and the ability to plan, direct and coordinate the electrical maintenance of paper equipment with in-plant resources and outside vendors. Duties and responsibilities include a combination of subject matter expertise (SME) in implementation as well as planning and organizing projects and all that entails. 

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Licensed electrician by the State of New Jersey, required.
  • Experience and training required with high voltage work.
  • U.S. Military experience is advantageous.
  • Plant experience as an SME in manufacturing environments as either an employee or vendor for a large manufacturer required.
  • Desired, control systems experience (PLC) / DCS familiarity
  • “iMaint” software, or a similar software, familiarity and experience is desired or the desire to learn same. 
  • Two or four year degree in a related field is desired, but not required, experience can substitute for educational degree.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with additional experience.
  • Knowledge of relevant equipment and procedures related to installation and service of manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities and make sound business decisions
  • Identify both simple and complex problems, and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Solid computer skills such as Microsoft Outlook and Office



KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Provide a safe environment for all employees, without compromise
  • Maintain all aspects of electrical controls, motor controls and instrumentation.
    • Controls above are related to paper manufacturing machinery, converting machinery, vacuum controls, refiners, pressure and consistency controls, etc.  
  • Integrate computer systems that control machinery and field devices, such as transmitters, temperature controls, automatic functioning controls vs. supervisory controls.  
  • Manage and work with vendors, as applicable on large scale electrical projects. To at times, include cost effective project plans, scheduling and organizing activities.
  • Work in a cost-effective manner personally and with respect to proposals and projects.
  • Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment, and skill of personnel
  • Hands-on day-2-day work on machinery as needed per the maintenance system and work orders.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Scheduled 40 hour workweek, however, regular work beyond normal hours and in emergencies is required.
