Campaign Director

 

POSITION SUMMARY
The Winsor School, one of the nation’s leading independent schools, serves 470 academically promising
and motivated girls in grades five through twelve. Located in the heart of Boston’s Longwood medical

The Campaign Director will play a vital role in the Winsor Leads Campaign, a historic and
comprehensive endowment campaign launching publicly in 2024. This lead operational role, reporting to
the Director of Advancement, will focus on three primary areas critical to campaign success: tracking and
managing major gift strategies in partnership with the Director of Advancement, organizing the campaign
volunteer structure, and overseeing all campaign systems and metrics of progress.
THE CAMPAIGN DIRECTOR WILL

  • Maintain an active pipeline of Winsor’s six, seven, and eight-figure top campaign prospects.
  • Lead the project management of proposal creation, follow up conversations, and gift closures.
  • Develop systems and reports to monitor activity with campaign prospects to ensure that determined strategies are being implemented and that leadership and volunteers are coordinated in our approach.
  • Coordinate with campaign leadership calendars for prospect cultivation and solicitation meetings.
  • Work closely with the Assistant Director of Board Relations and Campaign Operations to build briefings, bios, and research relative to top campaign prospects.
  • Partner with the Director of Advancement to manage and support the campaign volunteer structure.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Engagement and Events and Director of Strategic Communications to develop and execute programming both on campus and regionally to highlight campaign priorities, ensure the campaign is being appropriately messaged among volunteer structures, and develop regular campaign communications.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A demonstrated ability to speak and write persuasively about the importance of independent school education with a specific focus on girls’ education.
  • A bachelor’s degree, master’s preferred, and a minimum of 5 years of advancement experience in both fundraising and campaign management.
  • Travel and some evening and weekend work is required.
  • Superior project management skills, the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, work collaboratively, and manage volunteers at a high level.
  • Experience with budgets, reporting tools, and best practices for tracking campaign and major gifts moves management.
