Role Summary
Become one of the authors of our story.  Join our team as Server at the White Barn Inn in Kennebunk Maine.  You will report to the Director of F&B.   As a member of the food and beverage team, the Server is responsible for providing high-level of food and beverage service to guests in order for them to exceed their expectations.   

 Core Responsibilities
Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done!  Within the Auberge family, our people always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their team-mates.   Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:
  • Primarily responsible for assisting Guests in food and beverage service.
  • Relate with guests about needs, satisfaction with the food & beverage, ensuring a consistently caring and high quality service.
  • Comply with White Barn Inn standards in use within the Restaurant and other Food & Beverage outlets.
  • Understand restaurant layout, table/seat/station numbers and proper table set-ups
  • Understand all menu items, preparation, ingredients, cooking methods, sauces, portion sizes, garnishes, presentation and prices.
  • Accurately and quickly take and place food & beverage orders and input them into the Micros system.
  • Prepare the guest check accurately in P.O.S. and collect payment or signature, as required.
  • Operate, maintain and properly clean all the food & beverage equipment.
  • Be familiar with all liquor brands, beers, wines and non-alcoholic selections available in Restaurants.
  • Serve alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with federal, state, local and company regulations.
  • Use safe food handling procedures and maintain a safe-working environment by using proper food handling skills and food safety guidelines.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis
  • Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Hospitality Certificate or Degree preferred.
  •  Serve Safe Certification highly appreciated.
  • Ideal candidate possesses a minimum of 1-years’ experience in fine dining food service/hospitality. 
  • Excellent knowledge of food and wine.
