Westland Insurance Group Ltd is growing and is seeking a Senior Account Executive - Commercial, to be based at our South Surrey Head Office. This position is ideally suited to someone working in a commercial team who has the entrepreneurial spirit to secure, develop and manage accounts and provide the highest level of customer service.   At Westland Insurance you will enjoy working in a vibrant supportive team environment.

The Opportunity:

Are you committed to a career in the commercial insurance business sector? Do you thrive in a busy, fast paced environment?  You will bring your strong technical and sales skills to this role and represent Westland to the commercial market.  Responsibilities include:   
  • Ensuring retention of existing commercial insurance accounts through superior client service.
  • Maximizing growth within the Commercial team by developing new accounts and creating value through additional insurance products.
  • Generating, pursuing and closing new client opportunities through cold calling, networking and prospecting efforts.
  • Assisting in the preparation of Insurance Market Submissions.
  • Preparing and presenting professional proposals.
  • Assisting clients with Value Added Support – Risk Management/Claims Advocacy.
  • Providing advice and risk management solutions to address a client-specific needs.
  • Reinforcing collaboration and demonstrating commitment to excellence, while establishing an exceptional client focused experience through which you will differentiate Westland in the marketplace.
  • Maintaining a high level of industry knowledge and technical skills, working towards higher education, CRM, CIP/FCIP, etc.

Here’s what you bring:
  • Post-secondary education
  • Insurance Broker Level 2 License
  • Minimum 3 years' experience of Commercial Insurance
  • A deep knowledge of insurance and risk management related issues to allow for cross selling and identification of opportunities.
  • Proven track record in sourcing and securing new business
  • A natural ability at building authentic customer relationships
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, an active listener
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Proficiency with Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion are important qualities
  • Strong work ethic without sacrificing your ability to have fun on the job
