POSITION SUMMARY
This position will work within the Creative Services team, working closely with the Creative Director and other designers to produce digital assets for, but not limited to, social media, websites, and advertisements that align with the brand's visual style. The Website & Graphic Support Designer will be proficient in WordPress updates, management, and editing. The ideal candidate will possess strong design skills, have great attention to detail, and be able to multitask projects efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE
This position is an unclassified, Dual-Limited Term Employment (LTE) position within the State of Wisconsin employment system, working an average of 40 hours per week throughout the calendar year. Annual hours worked will not exceed 2,078.


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The starting wage for this role will be $22 - $23 per hour, based on qualifications. A comprehensive fringe benefits package, including health and dental insurance, life insurance, and disability insurance is available after a minimum employment period is met. Annual hours worked will not exceed 2,078. Paid time off for vacation, holidays, etc. is not included as part of the benefits package.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Collaborate with the Creative Director, Creative Services team, and Communications team to produce digital graphics for, but not limited to, social media, websites, and advertisements.
  • Create graphics following existing samples and brand guidelines, ensuring visual consistency.
  • Update and edit copy for various projects, maintaining brand consistency and accuracy.
  • Design in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, with knowledge of digital and print media.
  • WordPress editing, including information input, layout customization, and plugin management.
  • Collaborate with the Communications team to input information into multiple printed and digital collateral pieces.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Prior experience in graphic design and WordPress editing is required.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) and WordPress.
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media, or a related field, preferred.
  • Strong design portfolio demonstrating creative abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize projects in a fast-paced environment.

SPECIAL NOTES
The candidate must be able to work all 11 days of the annual Wisconsin State Fair; for 2024 these dates are August 1 – 11, 2024. Prior to appointment to this position, the candidate will be subject to a comprehensive criminal background check.

Contingent on business needs and the seasonality of WSFP, up to 2 days of remote work per week is available after an initial training period. Remote work will be discussed during the interview stage. High-speed internet access is needed to meet the requirements of remote work.
