POSITION SUMMARY
Wisconsin State Fair Park (WSFP) is seeking an enthusiastic individual interested in learning more about the exciting world of design. This position will assist with multiple facets of marketing efforts on behalf of WSFP brand properties like the Wisconsin State Fair, Milwaukee Mile racing, Harvest Fair and various other events. The ideal candidate will possess strong design skills, great attention to detail, and be able to work on multiple projects efficiently in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment.

The position may also be considered an internship for current students who are interested.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE
This position is an unclassified, Limited Term Employment (LTE) position within the State of Wisconsin employment system, beginning in a part-time capacity and then working an average of 40 hours per week during summer months. This role will work in a full-time capacity over the 11-day annual Wisconsin State Fair, INDYCAR Weekend at Milwaukee Mile, Harvest Fair, which includes weekends. Annual hours worked in this position will not exceed 1039 hours.


COMPENSATION
The starting wage for this role is $19.00 per hour.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Organize existing WSFP multimedia content library of photos and videos
  • Support the design team in creating graphics and editing videos for social media, websites, marketing materials and other projects
  • Develop logos, layouts, illustrations, and other visual elements as directed by graphic designers
  • Review and edit video assets to support creation of dynamic content
  • Collaborate with the design team to generate creative ideas and concepts for projects
  • Ensure that all designs align with the company’s branding guidelines and standards
  • Update and edit copy for projects, maintaining brand consistency and accuracy
  • Keep abreast of the latest design trends, tools, and techniques to enhance skills and contribute effectively to projects
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Relevant graphic design coursework and/or related internship experience
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
  • Growing design portfolio demonstrating creative abilities and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams
  • Video editing experience would be beneficial
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize projects in a fast-paced environment

SPECIAL NOTES
The candidate must be able to work extended hours, including nights and weekends, at times leading up to and during the Wisconsin State Fair, Milwaukee Mile race, Harvest Fair and other events. Prior to appointment to this position, the candidate will be subject to a comprehensive criminal background check.
