Electrical Technician

As an Electrical Technician at Wavemaker Labs, your core competencies in hands-on design, fabrication, bring-up, and troubleshooting of electrical and electro-mechanical systems will allow you to shine.  You will join a talented team in the development of robotics and automation systems as part of the Wavemaker Labs start-up incubator.

Qualifications
  • Two-year Electrical, Technical, or related degree and 2+ year experience as an Electrical Technician
  • Experience reading and following wiring, general electrical and electro-mechanical assembly drawings
  • Expertise in building a wide variety of complex connector assemblies, and handling crimping tools
  • Expertise in building reliable wire harnesses for systems exposed to harsh environments 
  • Ability to read and interpret basic electrical and electronic circuit diagrams 
  • Expert soldering, PCBA, surface mount and electrical rework skills
  • Intimate familiarity with electrical bench instruments (Voltmeters, Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, etc)
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical/wiring/grounding/shielding problems in mechatronic systems
  • Ability to support the engineering team with the bring-up of complex robotic systems
  • Proficiency in at least one computer language
  • Proficient with basic shop hand and power tools
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and partially defined requirements
  • Strong competency and understanding of shop safety in a normal workshop

Bonus Qualifications
  • Experience with high voltage systems (up to 480 V)
  • Ability to program PLCs in ladder logic
  • Experience with 3D printing processes
  • Experience with robotic and mechatronic assemblies
  • Experience in food-safe applications
