Robotics Systems Engineer - Regulatory Compliance
Job Type: Full-Time 

As a Robotics Systems Engineer – Regulatory Compliance at Wavemaker Labs, you will be a key enabler for bringing our autonomous mobile robots and food robots to market. To do so, you will be working with our engineering teams, consultants, and regulatory agencies to ensure our robots are safe, legal, and in compliance with applicable regulations. You will join a talented team in the development of revolutionary robotics and automation systems as part of the Wavemaker Labs start-up incubator.

  • BS/MS degree in science, engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years’ experience in regulatory compliance during productization of complex mechatronic systems, that touches mechanical, electrical and software aspects
  • Solid hands-on engineering background, and a passion to ‘dig deep’ into the engineering stack to identify, in collaboration with our engineering teams, solutions to regulatory challenges
  • Proven track record of having brought mechatronic systems to market through regulatory processes
  • Ability to analyze general regulatory standards, and interpret/apply them to specific products
  • Experience working closely with engineering development teams and regulatory agencies to ensure new designs comply with all relevant standards and requirements (design-for-compliance)
  • Experience organizing compliance programs by preparing timetables, cost estimates, and required resources including test laboratories and equipment
  • Expert knowledge of Hazard/Risk Analyzes, FMEAs, EMI, EMC, Electrical/Functional Safety, etc.
  • Solid knowledge of verification/validation, product requirements, specifications, and technical design documents 
  • Ability to travel to, and work from testing facilities, as needed, to lead and oversee submissions through the approval process
