Role Summary
As the Director of Restaurant Operations & Strategy at Wavemaker Labs, you will play a critical role in establishing and scaling our franchise ventures, which will focus on a curated set of forward-thinking franchise restaurants. This will include, but is not limited to, all aspects of launching, operating, and replicating franchise operations.
In addition to ensuring best-in-class operations for our franchise ventures, you will inform our path to growth and innovation by helping identify new restaurant partners and generate ideas focused on integrating automation and technology into our franchise operations. Finally, you will lead equity crowdfunding efforts to support the capital resourcing necessary to launch and scale our franchise ventures.

You Will:
  • Provide the leadership needed to successfully launch and scale Wavemaker Labs’ franchise model, including serving as the operational leader, P&L owner, and marketing manager for our franchise ventures
  • With contractor support, manage the franchise site selection process and any contract negotiations (e.g., lease, vendor terms)
  • Lead operational team to ramp to and execute new restaurant openings
    • Oversee restaurant operations, meeting all KPIs, hiring, training, etc.
    • Identify proper, efficient, and safe prescribed methods for all employees
  • Be the subject matter expert on and ensure compliance with all franchise disclosure documents and franchise agreements
  • Oversee equity crowdfunding efforts for the ventures you lead

You Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 10+ years of experience in general management/restaurant operations; experience with franchise operations preferred
  • Strong grasp of general business functions and management
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills; ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally
  • Strong analytical, decision making, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work autonomously, within a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage resources to hit deadlines and complete deliverables for 5+ companies and business ideas at any one time
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Ability to travel up to 15%

Nice to Have's: 
  • Baseline knowledge of the tech industry and a high-level understanding of venture capital
  • Strong MS Excel and presentation (PowerPoint, Keynote, etc.) skills
