Investor Relations Associate, Venture Team

Role Summary:

The Investor Relations Associate will be a key member of Wavemaker Labs’ Venture Team. You will be part of the Investor Relations team, working with Wavemaker’s senior executives as well as the leadership teams of various issuers to develop and execute strategies for companies pursuing equity crowdfunding campaigns. You will act as the first point of contact for investors across the Wavemaker Labs portfolio of companies. The ideal candidate is comfortable with ambiguity, passionate about supporting start-ups and founders, and can manage multiple concurrent projects.

Job Type: Full-Time

You Will:

  • Work with Director to manage active fundraising campaigns

  • Perform data analysis and generate insights to drive investment growth

  • Develop processes and strategies to support issuers throughout their fundraising campaigns

  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including Wavemaker Venture Team, Issuers, Broker-Dealers, and others to implement strategic decisions and process improvements as well as help move investors through the investment funnel

  • Develop a deep understanding of portfolio companies (including core business and ongoing marketing messaging) 

  • Support the Venture Team by acting as the primary point of contact for the investment community

  • Generate ad-hoc reports and evaluate KPIs

  • Provide support to issuers throughout their campaigns; understand their unique objectives for their capital raise and help them develop an action plan to achieve them

  • Handle all in-bound shareholder phone and email traffic

  • Perform out-bound calls and emails to resolve operational issues
     

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 2+ years professional work experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, creating & managing dashboards)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Detail-oriented

  • Ability to see the bigger picture and connect dots

  • Ability to problem solve, remain calm under pressure, and execute against deadlines

  • Previous experience working with CRM systems a plus

  • Previous sales or account/relationship management experience a plus
