Direct Support Professional/Retail Associate- Employment Department


Location: Allied's Attic, Enfield CT 


Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM


Job Summary:


We seek a dedicated and compassionate individual to provide 1:1 support to an employee with disabilities who works in a retail setting at Allied's Attic. The ideal candidate will assist in completing work tasks, adhering to established timelines, and ensuring a professional work environment. This position requires patience, reliability, and a solid commitment to supporting the individual’s success.


Key Responsibilities:


•    Provide one-on-one support to assist with daily job duties in a retail environment.
•    Ensure that tasks are completed accurately and within established deadlines.
•    Monitor and support the individual in adhering to safety procedures and the work schedule.
•    Encourage focus and attention to assigned tasks.
•    Guide work processes and assist with problem-solving as needed.
•    Facilitate positive interactions with co-workers and supervisors, modeling professional behavior.
•    Ensure the individual returns from breaks on time and follows the designated work routine.
•    Adapt support to meet individual needs, promoting independence and job satisfaction.


Qualifications:


•    Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
•    Patience, strong communication skills, and the ability to offer support professionally.
•    Dependable and punctual, able to work the assigned schedule.
•    Knowledge of retail environments is a plus but not required.


Salary:


$17.77/hr
