JOB SUMMARY
This position inspects machined parts or assemblies to drawing or specification using visual and/or precision mechanical techniques and tools, including indicators and micrometers. Performs advanced surface plate set-ups, records and reports inspection findings. Reads blueprints or engineering specifications to obtain product information such as specified material, surface finish, and dimensions. Compiles data packages and completes FAI packages in accordance with customer specifications. Responsible for writing NCR’s.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 3 years’ mechanical inspection experience, preferably with metal parts.
Familiarity with First Article paperwork.
Knowledge of geometrical dimensioning & tolerance in accordance with ANSI Y14.5.
Experience working in an ISO/aerospace environment a plus.
Ability to read and interpret information from prints, factory orders, routings and other internal documentation in hard copy or electronic formats
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision to meet deadlines
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Must be willing and able to work daily overtime (possibly some Saturdays).
Must work with safety as the highest priority.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to see, hear, walk, climb, bend, stoop, kneel and reach, grasp and use a computer. Shop floor environment which may contain machine fluids mist and exposure to hazardous chemicals.
