Assistant Director, Religious Education - St. Pius X, Granger (Granger, IN)

Saint Pius X Parish in Granger, IN, is seeking a full-time Assistant Director of Religious Education to help oversee faith formation of over 450 students in grades Kindergarten through eighth grade.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintain staff presence and assist in the classroom as needed for the various RE programs: Sunday Catechesis, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, Family Catechesis and the Merici Program.

• Coordinating the Children's Liturgy of the Word program and other existing children’s programs.

• Providing support to the Religious Education and sacramental preparation programs.

• Collaborating with members of the Faith Formation staff to provide children’s and adult programming for the parish.

• Communicate regularly with Religious Education families concerning registration deadlines, enrichment opportunities, parish-wide events and policy compliance.

• Providing administrative support to the Director of Faith Formation.

Preferred candidate qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in theology, pastoral ministry, or a closely related field.

• A minimum of one to three years of experience in ministry or education.

• Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing and committed to stewardship as a way of life.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Proficient in traditional computer programs and communication technology.

• Able to operate independently to develop and implement new projects, collaborating with parish staff and volunteers as needed.
