1. General Responsibilities
- To work cooperatively with the priest towards the formation of a lively, faith-filled worshipping community
- Collaborate with the parish staff in providing pastoral care to the parish community
- Shares regularly as a member of the parish staff, in staff meetings, in parish planning, as an Ex-Offico member of the Parish Council
- Foster collaboration between parish and school
2. Evangelization
- Serve as the parish volunteer coordinator
- Maintain the CD rack at the back of church
- To work with the Pastor for liturgical planning and assist at liturgical functions
- Schedule first-time parent Baptism class
- To serve as facilitator for the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults, teach, and schedule Rites.
- Religious Education: organize teachers, classes, and material.
- To organize and implement programs during the various liturgical seasons along with the Youth Minister
- To organize any retreats and penance services.
- To be available for weekly meetings with pastor
3. Organization and Administration
- All fixing of dates for Sacraments with Pastor including baptisms and weddings
- Collaborate with the school regarding sacramental prep for Reconciliation, 1st Communion, and Confirmation
- To be the wedding coordinator by starting and maintaining marriage files, meet with engaged couples, affidavits, and organize wedding rehearsals
- Assist priest with annulment work
- Manage Parish Website, Parish App, and communicate announcements to the school for the parent newsletter
- Schedule Servers for all Masses
- Record Sacraments and notify initial parish of sacrament received
- Each quarter will check school families who received assistance from the parish whether they are actively participating by using their time, talent, and treasure
4. Potential Areas of Responsibility
- The work of the Pastoral Associate may embrace a wide variety of needs of the parish community. The Pastor and Pastoral Associate, after consultation, may periodically modify responsibilities to reflect changing situations and unexpected events
