Pastoral Associate for Liturgy

The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception has an opening for a pastoral associate for liturgy. The candidate works closely with the pastor of the parish to assist parishioners in their journey of faith. This is a part-time position, with hours and availability to be flexible according to needs of parish and candidate. Salary is negotiable depending on experience and education.

Job Summary

To assist the pastor in the implementation of the overall faith formation of the parishioners in Liturgy and Sacraments. The person must be of strong faith, blessed with a deep love of the people, and the Catholic Church, knowledgeable of the church's teachings and committed to its mission.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate Funeral planning and assisting with the family and the Liturgy, in collaboration with Director of Music
  2. Coordinate Wedding preparation and Liturgy
  3. Oversee Baptism catechesis and formation
  4. Develop and implement ministry strategies in collaboration with Pastor
  5. Collaborate with the Pastor to Identify education and training opportunities for the development and growth of all personnel and Volunteers
  6. Oversee seasonal decorations, especially for Advent/Christmas and Lent/Easter
  7. Oversee liturgical ministries and collaborate with Director of Music
  8. Collaborate with pertinent parties related to episcopal liturgies

  5. Ability to manage office staff/volunteers/ministry personnel
  6. Able to assist as needed any volunteer or visitor to the office/campus
  7. Ability to quickly address situations to ascertain level of need/emergency
  8. Need to be an excellent listener and can manage multiple groups of individuals
Minimum Education, and Experience Requirements:
  1. Experience working with the public
  2. Good and Mature Knowledge of the Catholic Faith
