Our Lady of Hungary School seeks a loving, energetic teacher to lead upper Elementary Grade classroom for the 2025-26 school year. Established in 1927, Our Lady of Hungary School has consistently maintained high academic standards, grounded in the teachings of the Catholic faith. The school was founded by the Daughters of Divine Charity, a religious order of Sisters, who were invited to staff Our Lady of Hungary School upon its founding. They arrived nearly 100 years ago amid the ringing of the church bells and much jubilation by the parishioners and soon to be students. Today there are ten lay teachers and a lay principal staffing the school continuing the same mission to provide an authentic Catholic education in a caring environment.
Job Responsibilities Include:

Homeroom teacher for an elementary class.

Responsible for enforcing the school's discipline policies and demonstrating effective classroom management regarding student organization, behavior, and daily transitions.

Communicate regularly and effectively with parents regarding all aspects of school life for this group of students.

Work cooperatively with administrators, partner teachers in the teaching team, other staff, and parents on various school-wide initiatives, projects, and field trips.

Prepare lesson plans and teach in assigned subject areas and grade levels following state and diocesan guidelines.

Proctors NWEA Assessment screening three times annually to measure student growth and drive individual assistance.

Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.

Recognizes the variety of student learning styles and facilitates learning by adapting instructional methods and teaching materials to student needs.

Uses various assessments to measure student growth.

Regularly enters grades and monitors student academic progress via PowerSchool software.

Commits to ongoing faith formation and professional growth.

Fosters the spiritual development of students by modeling Catholic doctrine, values, and morals.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
-
Indiana Elementary teaching license in appropriate grade level/teaching area preferred; or demonstrated eligibility to receive a license.

High-level thinking and problem-solving skills.

Ability to speak and write fluently and grammatically correct English.

Strong written, verbal presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Flexibility and team-centered mindset.
Physical Requirements:

Stand for 30 minutes at a time.

Operate a computer, hand-held learning devices, and other office equipment.

Must occasionally lift and / or move up to 10 pounds.
